Software

Our practice is based on the state-of-the-art technological advancements. Discover what technology and software we use in our solutions. We have in-depth knowledge and experience using the state-of-the-art software used in the mining engineering, optimization, and simulation fields. Here is a partial list of the tools that we use.

Arena by Rockwell Automation

Arena is a discrete event simulation and automation software developed by Systems Modeling and acquired by Rockwell Automation in 2000. It uses the SIMAN processor and simulation language. the latest versions provide significant enhancements in optimization, animation and inclusion of 64bit operation for modelling processes.

IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio

IBM ILOG CPLEX Optimization Studio (often informally referred to simply as CPLEX) is an optimization software package. The CPLEX Optimizer was named for the simplex method as implemented in the C programming language, although today it also supports other types of mathematical optimization and offers interfaces other than C.

Gurobi Optimizer

The Gurobi Optimizer is a commercial optimization solver for linear programming (LP), quadratic programming (QP), quadratically constrained programming (QCP), mixed integer linear programming (MILP), mixed-integer quadratic programming (MIQP), and mixed-integer quadratically constrained programming (MIQCP). Gurobi is named for its founders:

MATLAB by Mathworks

MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment. A proprietary programming language developed by MathWorks, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Fortran and Python.

Visual Basic for Applications

Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is an implementation of Microsoft’s event-driven programming language Visual Basic 6 and its associated integrated development environment (IDE). Visual Basic for Applications enables building user-defined functions (UDFs), automating processes and accessing Windows API and other low-level functionality through dynamic-link libraries (DLLs).

Microsoft SQL Server

Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system developed by Microsoft. As a database server, it is a software product with the primary function of storing and retrieving data as requested by other software applications—which may run either on the same computer or on another computer across a network

Geovia Whittle

Whittle is a strategic mine planning software used in scoping, feasibility, life-of-mine scheduling, and in the ongoing re-evaluation of mine plans throughout the production phase. Whittle provides production scheduling optimization, which enables increases in project value over the mine life optimization. With its 64-bit platform, Whittle handles large data sets designed to optimize and run large models.

Simulia

is an engineering simulation software. SIMULIA offers a simulation product portfolio, for multiphysics, process integration and optimization: Abaqus FEA, fe-safe, Isight, Tosca, Simpack, Simpoe and SIMULIA SLM. In addition, SIMULIA V5 and V6 solutions enable realistic simulation for both designers and design engineers currently working in the CATIA V5 or V6 environments.

Geovia MineSched

A stand-alone mine scheduling solution, MineSched offers scheduling user experience for surface and underground mines of all sizes and types. It incorporates a broad set of built-in functionality, scheduling algorithms, and multiple output results such as graphics and charts. MineSched creates schedules that improve productivity and profits.

TOMLAB Optimization

The TOMLAB Optimization Environment is a powerful optimization platform and modeling language for solving applied optimization problems in MATLAB. TOMLAB provides a wide range of optimization toolboxes, features, and services for your solution process. Read more about TOMLAB.

Geovia Gems

GEOVIA GEMS™ is a collaborative geology and mine planning solutions. GEMS provides the capabilities for open pit and underground mining required in exploration, modeling, mine design, long-term planning and production scheduling. With GEMS’ unique centralized database, geologists and engineers gain immediate access to organized, up-to-date geological and mine planning data.

Geovia PCBC

GEOVIA PCBC is a system designed specifically for the planning and scheduling of block cave mines. It has been developed over the course of more than 25 years. Today, PCBC is used at most of the major mining companies involved in block caving projects to perform tasks from feasibility studies to daily draw control.vv
